Preguntas frecuentes

Why do eVisa applications get denied?+
The most common reasons for eVisa rejection include: criminal history or prior immigration violations, incomplete or inaccurate application information, passport photo not meeting requirements, insufficient travel insurance, previous overstay in the same country, or nationality-based restrictions. Security flags and watchlist matches are also a cause, though these are not typically communicated to the applicant.
Can I reapply for an eVisa after a rejection?+
Yes, in most cases. However, reapplying with the same incorrect information will lead to another rejection. Address the specific reason for rejection first. For ESTA denials, you must apply for a B-2 visitor visa at a US embassy instead — a denied ESTA cannot be reapplied for.
What should I do if my eVisa is denied close to my travel date?+
Contact the issuing authority immediately. Some countries have expedited review or appeal processes for time-sensitive applications. Contact your airline and travel insurer — "administrative denial of entry" is often covered by travel insurance for trip cancellation claims.
Is it possible to appeal an eVisa rejection?+
Some countries allow formal appeals — India, for example, has a process for IVAC appeals. Most countries do not offer a formal appeal but permit reapplication. A qualified immigration lawyer can advise on the best course of action for your specific case.
