The IVL is a NZD$35 levy charged to most international visitors to New Zealand. It funds conservation and infrastructure improvements. The NZeTA and IVL are applied for simultaneously through the same application. Australian citizens are exempt from both the NZeTA and IVL.
Do Australian citizens need an NZeTA?+
No. Australian citizens and permanent residents are exempt from the NZeTA requirement and the IVL. They can travel to New Zealand freely without any prior travel authorisation.
How long can I stay in New Zealand on an NZeTA?+
Each visit is limited to 90 days. The NZeTA is valid for 2 years or until your passport expires, during which you can make multiple trips. If you need more than 90 days in New Zealand, you must apply for a visitor visa.
